Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep a local log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive basic technical information when a visitor loads a page:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. Along with analytics services, they help summarize traffic, popular pages, and points where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
This site neither maintains nor sells a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to Jersey County custodians, including the Sheriff's Office, Circuit Clerk, Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification, and Illinois State Police Sex Offender Registry. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and sharing rules apply to information submitted through those tools. We do not set those practices, so review the provider's policy before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Jersey County Sheriff, Judici, Illinois agencies, legal-aid resources, or commercial search services. Once you follow an external link, that site's privacy policy controls the visit. Check it before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to follow activity across websites and select targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures protect collected data. No internet system is completely secure, however, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If such information is identified, it will be removed.
Your Data Rights
Illinois public-record access is governed in part by the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140, while dissemination of state conviction information is addressed by the Uniform Conviction Information Act, 20 ILCS 2635. Those laws govern official records and do not turn this private site into a government custodian. Subject to applicable law, you can:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
